Nightly Homework
Reading: Your child needs to be reading a minimum of 20-30 minutes every night. This can include your child reading a just right book independently, listening to an audio book while following along in the text itself, and/or reading and discussing the text with you. The overall goal is to help develop habits to encourage a lifetime love of reading.

Math: Please help your child practice their math facts for 5-10 minutes each night. This helps promote fact fluency which is essential as students delve into more complex math concepts.

Typing: Your child will need to practice keyboarding using Typing Pal for a minimum of 20 minutes per week. The fourth grade standards require students to be typing at 20 words per minute or more.

Play: Help to make sure your child has the opportunity to play outside for 30 minutes. As Albert Einstein once said, "Play is the highest form of research."
Family Time: Spend time nightly together as a family. Ideas include: eating dinner together, reading stories together, playing games together, and simply talking together. Your child loves spending time with you!

Sleep: According to the National Sleep Foundation, children between the ages of 6 and 13 need 9 to 11 hours of sleep each night. Please help your child with a consistent bedtime and nightly routine to ensure he/she gets the rest he/she needs.
