It's been a time of celebration in fourth grade! Last week, students finished up their narrative pieces and participated in our Celebration of Writing event. We have been working with Jenna Lincoln, a published author, who has been helping us better understand the life of an author. During our celebration, students had the opportunity to play the roles of a literary agent at a publishing company and an author trying to get their piece published by a publishing company. Authors created a "pitch" as a short and exciting way to share about their story to entice literary agents to inquire more about it and and offer them a publishing contract. It was so fun to hear the buzz and excitement in our room. Students were beaming with confidence as they shared their writing!
